2009 Paratus Mt Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon (.750L)

Estate Grown

The 2009 PARATUS shows a sultry elegance with notes of dark leather, rich, deep blackberry, and ripe orchard fruits. The youth of this wine belies its structure and balance. The wine will age well for ten years plus.

“With our focus on small, artisanal producers, Paratus was a great addition to our portfolio. It is 100% Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 2009 delivers a firm, deeply flavored wine with considerable length and complexity. While quite approachable in its youth, we have been tempted to tuck a case or two away in our own cellars with complete faith that 10-15 years aging will be worth the wait.” - Peter Granoff, Master Sommelier; Proprietor, Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
90 pts, Stephen Tanzer - Inky ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of cherry, toasty oak, mint and pipe tobacco. Concentrated but lively and fresh, offering gently sweet cherry-vanilla and cassis flavors that are lifted by juicy acidity. Finishes long and sweet, with supple tannins sneaking in on the late side. This fruit-driven cab is accessible now but has the depth to age.
