2013 presented a second straight year of perfect growing conditions in our Mt Veeder cabernet vineyards. Clear, warm weather prevailed with minimal heat spikes or unseasonable precipitation. Yields were average – 2.5 tons/acre – and the fruit reached perfect balance on the earlier side of October. This may prove to be one of our best vintages ever.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Plum, blueberry and black raspberry fruit, licorice, graphite, full-bodied, silky strong tannins and opulent.  Alluring and powerful, ripe black plum, rich and dense blackberry, and anise. Complete package, bouquet transforms to a beautiful mouthfeel, with lingering minerality and a juicy unwavering finish.
Ratings
90 Points - This wine offers a significance of herbal undertones and wild exotic brush, a nod to its mountain growing location and this particular appellation. Pencil shavings, flowers and leathery texture bookend strong firm tannins and smoky oak, the core braced in black currant and cassis. - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast
